The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of characters who will split off from the main group to embark on their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team features Teor (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

With an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.

Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem mismatched, but the events of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the team understands precisely where to head next after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.

An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—used the enemy for his personal gain, entering the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.

The traitor then settled his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Secondly, each character has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
  • The adventurer knows the region and cautions that it is a hostile location.
  • The warrior and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the party access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The warrior and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.

This results in them little choice but to journey toward the remote area in search of the traitor.

Future Episodes

From episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to assemble the Seekers and Schemers tables.

Fans can anticipate discovering which characters will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
