AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that breaks usual expectations, the game developer has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Revealed
According to the formal statement, "A mysterious meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of forbidden rituals and terrifying changes reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a clandestine sect.
The adventure focuses on "peculiar trials and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Transformations
The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a powerful sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Features
Players who accomplish the quest will obtain an exclusive katana alongside several items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Update
This release also introduces the game's latest complimentary story addition, titled "The Enigma." This playful mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
